The Kent School Services Network (KSSN) expanded in September with the addition of eight therapists assigned to schools in Grand Rapids and Kentwood. These clinicians are working with existing KSSN Community School Coordinators to provide mental health services to children and families right at the school.
“This is part of a broad community effort to bring services to children and families where they are, instead of waiting for them to come to us,” says Tom High, Director of Community Based Services. “We worked for four years laying the foundation for this program. KSSN is expanding because this approach has been proven to be so effective.”
KSSN is funded with public and local private dollars, Network 180 (formerly Community Mental Health), United Way, and a number of local foundation grants.
