The Adolescent Program
The Adolescent Program
Treatment of youth, ages 13-17, focuses on healing past trauma, developing a healthy identity, learning independent living skills, and preparing for permanent placements.
Boys and girls live in separate homes, and in most cases, have single bedrooms that reflect their unique tastes and personalities.
Teens receive intensive individual therapy and group therapy. Lively discussions focus on six questions of personal identity:
• Who am I?
• Why am I here?
• Where do I belong?
• Whom do I love?
• Who loves me?
• How can I be true to myself?
The group therapy format promotes bonding among peers and quickly integrates newer students into the house group. Each home has a licensed therapist with specialized training in substance abuse treatment, trauma informed treatment, EMDR, and CBT.
